I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
