Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
