Space-Based Images Depict Iranian Navy and Nuclear Facilities Hit by US-Israeli Military Action.

Multiple American and Israeli attacks has according to analysis destroyed or damaged no fewer than eleven Iran's navy ships starting Saturday, recently obtained orbital imagery reveal, with launch facilities and enrichment plants also coming under fire.

Photographs of the southerly Konarak military port and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which is located on the strategic Hormuz Strait and contains the headquarters of the Iran's naval force, depict plumes of smoke rising from multiple warships on Monday and Tuesday.

Naval Fleet Sustained Major Losses

Among the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, the country's largest naval vessel which had been used as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Satellite images showed black smoke pouring from the ship which had been stationed at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence assessments state that at least a quintet of warships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Photos of the southern part of the harbor depict smoke emanating from the Makran, while another pair of ships are visibly damaged, with a single one clearly on fire.

At Konarak, images show multiple damaged ships, with intelligence reports pointing to damage to a half-dozen warships. Photos taken on Monday also indicate that a number of structures at the base have been destroyed.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has harassed global maritime traffic," an American commander declared. "Today, there is not one Iranian vessel at sea in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will not stop."

A number of vessels allegedly destroyed may have been obscured in aerial photos by haze or plumes, or targeted offshore, and have not been conclusively proven. Additional information suggested that an Iranian vessel was going down off the coast of Sri Lankan waters, leading to a rescue operation.

Rocket Installations and Atomic Facilities Attacked

Neutralizing Iranian missile bases and the prevention of nuclear weapons development were listed as additional goals of the air campaign. Satellite images also depicted impacts against the southern Khorgu base and north-western Tabriz facilities, and at the Konarak air air base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were struck.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e drone drone base to the west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread damage was seen to warehouses, underground facilities and unmanned aircraft systems.

Impact was also seen at a surveillance station at the Zahedan airbase in eastern Iran, near the frontier with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the new round of attacks have reportedly hit facilities at Natanz – widely believed to be at the center of the country's enrichment efforts. An international watchdog commented that the damaged structures were used for entry to the facility's underground nuclear plant and that "no radiological consequence" was anticipated.

Wider Fallout and Analysis

Observers stated that the attacks appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iran's naval ability to conduct conventional attacks using its largest warships. However, it was noted that Tehran maintains the capacity to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, midget subs and its so-called "clandestine network" of oil ships.

The overall scope of the damage caused to Iranian military infrastructure is still uncertain, with hostilities reportedly ongoing. Pictures also reveals extensive destruction to the headquarters of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the capital Tehran.

A significant number of public facilities also seem to have been hit in the capital city and throughout the country after the conflict escalated. Toll estimates from local officials suggest that a high number of civilians may have been lost their lives in the strikes.

With the conflict ongoing, analysis of space-based data will persist to assess the unfolding battlefield picture.
