The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort seeks to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The track blends a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from later in the month.
