English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The show will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
