NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , after last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests was the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders instead they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up big while recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a team aiming to run first, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the defence to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense has to cover the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. All they need is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
